Our Story
Written by Audrey | The Bride
The Beginning
It was March 1999 and we met at our local grocery store.

It was a typical evening run to the store with kids in tow, Scott with Mason, me with Kadence. Mason and Kadence were friends from preschool and when they saw each other at the store they insisted we all shop together so they could hang out. Scott and I soon discovered we had a lot in common, and made plans to take the kids snowboarding together the following weekend.

Then the weekend rolled around and (as typical) plans changed. When I called Scott to let him know Kadence couldn't go, he asked if I'd like to come along without her. Having no plans myself, I said "sure".
We talked a ton and had a great time, getting to know each other the whole day. The connection was undeniable. We started hanging out frequently, planning play dates with the kids almost every week.
It wasn't long before Scott asked me out on a real date "without the kids".
The Proposal
The sweetest thing about Scott's proposal was how thoughtful it was. He tried so hard to make it special just for me.

We picked up dinner and headed to the beach for a little sunset picnic on the sand. We ate and talked and enjoyed the sunset. Suddenly, Scott was on one knee, pulling a folded up paper from his pocket. He had written a poem and was reading it to me. He was nervous and so sweet. When I realized what was happening I started to laugh and cry.
We had been together for 15 years and had been living like a married couple for most of them. Neither of us were anxious to get married, satisfied with our life and relationship as it was and had always been. It just took that one sweet moment for me to realize how much I really wanted to marry him. Then he pulled out a ring and proposed, asking me to be the wife he already considered me to be.
And of course, I said yes.
And Finally...

Four years later, on a trip to Paso Robles, we both fell in love with the HammerSky Vineyard on a beautiful November evening. We decided that this was going to be the place we would finally get married. It was breathtaking, laid-back, and just felt right. We hope you enjoy our day as much as we will. Our goal is that the day will be beautiful, relaxing, and fun for everyone.
So pop a bottle of Sparkling Rosé or enjoy a glass of smooth Cabernet. "Here's to a night we will always remember with family and friends we will never forget. Cheers!"
